Excited to share the successful commissioning of the Gera Solar Minigrid Extension Project, completed on November 22, 2024!
We’ve significantly increased access to clean energy in Gera, Konso, boosting the system’s capacity from 140 kWp to 174.1 kWp. This expansion, achieved in partnership with BOS Balance of Storage Systems AG and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH with European Union and Energising Development (EnDev) funding, will power more than 1000 single-phase households and 43 three-phase commercial connections. The upgrade includes a 34.1 kW PV capacity increase, a 45 kVA battery inverter, a 27 kVA string inverter, and a 76.8 kWh LiFEPO4 battery bank.
