” As I wrap up my stay in New Delhi, India, I’m filled with gratitude and inspiration after attending hashtagStartupMahakumbh2025 one of the largest gatherings of startups, SMEs investors, ecosystem enablers, and innovators in the world!
Representing Green Scene Energy and as far as I know, the only Ethiopian SME at the event (if others were there, please connect!) was truly a proud moment. We had the opportunity to showcase our achievements, ongoing projects, and innovations in the solar energy sector including Productive Use of Energy (PUE) solutions and our impactful current project, hashtagLiveGreen_CookSmart Induction Stove.
I was amazed by the wealth of ideas, emerging technologies, and the incredible drive of startups and SMEs from across the globe. The event provided a unique platform for networking, sharing challenges, exchanging knowledge and exploring cross-border business opportunities.
One of my key takeaways is how deeply the Indian government understands the role of startups and SMEs as the backbone of economic growth, innovation, and job creation. Their support is tangible from finance facilitation (Access to Finance), working spaces and promotion to capacity building and global networking opportunities. The environment they’ve created is truly nurturing for private sector development.
It’s my heartfelt wish to see similar platforms and governmental support for private sector business in Ethiopia. With the right ecosystem, entrepreneurs can thrive and drive real change! “
