Green Scene Energy is powered by a 70+ strong, 100% Ethiopian team of engineers, technicians, and professionals: 30 permanent staff and a flexible contract workforce that scales with our projects. Our work is organized across four departments, Engineering, Operations, Sales & Marketing, and Finance & Administration, with independent quality, documentation, and legal functions reporting directly to the CEO.
A Message from Our CEO
Green Scene Energy began with one sale: a small solar home system for a farmer named Shambel in Abuserkema, back in 2017. When that first light came on in his house, we saw what this work is really about. Not panels or kilowatts, but a family able to cook, study and live after sunset.
Since that evening we have grown into a team of more than 70 Ethiopian engineers, technicians and professionals. We have delivered over 6 MW of solar and storage, reached more than 100,000 people, built six mini-grids, and powered hospitals, embassies, farms and an airport. In Addis Ababa we now manufacture TOLO, Ethiopia’s first locally made induction stove.
What has not changed is how we work. We design, build and maintain what we sell, and we stay accountable for it long after commissioning. We are women-led and proudly Ethiopian, and we measure success the same way we did at Shambel’s house: by the light switching on, and staying on.

Leadership
Rekik Bekele Ayele, Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Electrical engineer with 15+ years in clean energy, mini-grids, and consumer solar financing. Board member of the Ethiopian Solar Energy Development Association, named Most Influential Ethiopian Woman in Energy (2021), and Finalist, LinkedIn Changemaker Awards Ethiopia 2026.
She leads an executive team combining deep operational, financial, and technical experience: a General Manager with more than two decades in banking and institutional operations, a Chief Financial Officer with 18+ years in financial management and donor compliance, and a Chief Technical Officer who is a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer with 20+ years of engineering leadership across East and Central Africa.
Delivery & Engineering
Project delivery is led by a dedicated Projects Director for mini-grids and distribution networks with multi-million-dollar grid infrastructure delivery experience, supported by PMI-certified project managers, a dual-registered project engineer (Electrical PE and Grade 1 Water Works), a dedicated documentation and reporting function for client and donor-grade record keeping, and a senior technical advisor.
Engineering Depth
Behind our leadership stands a full-time technical team of electrical, electromechanical, industrial, and civil engineers, including two licensed professional engineers, EMS/SCADA and network-certified specialists, solar PV and BESS technical leads, and experienced procurement, logistics, and HSE professionals embedded with our site teams. Green Scene Energy is registered as an Ethiopian private limited company, Reg. No. YK/AA/2/0007054/2009.

Our Board of Advisory was established in January 2025. Its members were selected for their ability to guide and support Green Scene Energy’s future strategy, bringing experience across engineering, finance, sustainability and international business.
