Unlocking finance, not just supply
Rain-fed agriculture is a pillar of the Ethiopian economy and one of its most climate-vulnerable. With over 300 solar water pumping systems already deployed, Green Scene Energy is using CLASP’s support to scale up supply and, just as importantly, to unlock consumer financing. Working closely with Ethiopian financial institutions, we have helped design the country’s first collateral-free loan products for solar water pumps, bringing solar irrigation within reach of farming families who could never afford the upfront cost.
